Why hire a licensed contractor?

#1.  It's the law!  If you hire a non-licensed contractor, you have to provide them with worker's comp insurance.  If you don't, and they get hurt, you will be liable for all expenses related to the accident.

#2.  A licensed contactor has liability insurance and a bond.  If there is damage caused by the contractor, the insurance company will pay you for it.  Call your home owner's insurance and ask them if they will cover the damage caused by an unlicensed contractor.  Don't tell them who you are, you don't want to be dropped by your insurance!

#3.  Licensed contractors are smarter!  It's against the law for someone to perform contacting services (yes, that means painting) without a license.  Do you want someone to work for you who is willing to break the law?

#4.  It's easy to check a license.  Go to www.ccb.state.or.us and click onto contractor search.  You can put in their name or number and get their business record detail.  Don't rely on a contactor's number, check it out.  Plus, you can check and see how many complaints have been filed against them.

What Does Sisu Mean?

Pronunciation:

 si'-soo

We are often asked "what does Sisu mean?"  The definition is spunk and enduring energy, but ask any Finn and you will hear of it's many connotations.  Sisu means tenacity, grit,eagerness and spirit, as well as courage in the face of adversity and a strong work ethic.  Possessing sisu gives you the ability to see difficult situations through to the end.  And it means enthusiasm, drive, ambition and guts.  Or, as my very Finnish father would say "intestinal fortitude".  However you slice it, Sisu describes the virtues of our company well!
